He is a published author and has a comprehensive knowledge of the New Zealand electricity sector; including energy efficiency, climate change science and policy, and renewable energy technologies. Martin has previously worked for the Sustainability Trust as an energy efficiency assessor and auditor, at the Energy Efficiency and Conservation Authority (EECA) as a residential advisor, at the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment as a researcher, and Victoria University as a tutor.
